Weekend away to Derry – Friday 24^th October 2008

There will be a Dining Out weekend away to Derry from Friday 24^th October to Monday 27^th October (the October bank-holiday weekend). We have reserved accommodation in The Tower Hotel (see www.towerhotelderry.com).

The Tower Hotel is the only hotel located within the historic city walls of Derry. The hotel occupies a unique central location just off the Diamond, within walking distance of all amenities; shopping and entertainment, theatres and museums, arts and crafts.

The Tower Hotel is a stylish contemporary four-star hotel, and although only open since May 2002, it has won a number of awards including an AA Rosette and RAC dining award for the restaurant. The hotel features 90 bedrooms, 3 Suites, a café style bar, an award winning Mediterranean bistro, 5 designated conference suites, a fitness suite and a private onsite car park.

Derry is one of Ireland’s oldest cities. It was the last city in Ireland to be encircled by walls and the only city where the original walls still survive intact. The journey from Dublin to Derry takes about 4 hours by car, bus or train (the train service operates via Belfast). British Airways fly to Derry, but their service only operates between March and 25 October (see www.ba.com).

For our weekend away, Dining Out has arranged very special rates with the Tower Hotel as follows:

- Friday, Saturday and Sunday night B&B and dinner on Saturday night for Stg£130

- Saturday and Sunday night B&B and dinner on Saturday night for Stg£95

This priced is based on 2 people sharing a twin/double en-suite room. There are a limited number of single rooms available at a supplement of Stg£15 per night.

At current € to £ conversion rates, these prices work out approximately as follows:

- Friday, Saturday and Sunday night B&B and dinner on Saturday night for €165

- Saturday and Sunday night B&B and dinner on Saturday night for €120

- Single rooms supplement €20 per night.

Pay your booking deposit early (or pay in full) to avail of the current favourable € to £ Sterling exchange rates.

To secure a place for this Dining Away weekend, you must pay a €50 deposit per person by Friday 15^th August 2008. The €50 deposit can be paid by cash, cheque or credit card to any committee member. If you are paying by credit card, we will pass on your credit card details to the hotel and they will charge your card (deposit Stg£40 or the appropriate full amount). Please state whether you require a single, twin or double room. Places are limited and they will be allocated on the basis of deposit paid.

If you cancel your place before Tuesday 23^rd September 2008, then your money paid is refundable. After that date, you may lose some or all of your money paid.
